Dead man shocks family by returning home two months after his funeral
A grieving family was left reeling when their “dead” uncle re-appeared two months after his funeral.
Aigali Supugaliev, 63, from Tomarly in Kazakhstan was reported missing on 9 July.
Two months later a decomposed body was found near his home. A post-mortem DNA test found a 99,92% likelihood that it was Aigali, leaving the family convinced their beloved had passed away.
A death certificate was issued and his brother, Esengali, organised a funeral where Aigali was “laid to rest”.
However, it’s since come to light Aigali had been offered a temporary job on a distant farm and decided to take the four-month post, Metro reports. He didn’t inform his relatives when he left.
Esengali says his daughter nearly had a heart attack when she saw her “dead” uncle alive.
“The DNA analysis had confirmed this was my brother,” Esengali said. “We believed the results and conducted all the funeral and memorial rites.”
According to local reports the dead man’s nail clippings were used for the DNA test.
Aigali posed for a picture with the gravestone his family had erected on his “grave”.
Despite being elated to see his brother alive, Esengali now worries about the man they buried.
“I spent so much money on it. But it’s not even about the money. Who have we buried? Maybe his relatives are looking for this person.”
