3 Indians held for duping 17 by offering fake work visa to UAE
Delhi Police captured three people of a Punjab-based family for hoodwinking 17 individuals by giving them phony work visa to the UAE, a cop said on Wednesday.
Rakesh Kumar, 38, Prem Kumar, 35, and Gagandeep Singh, 31, who are from Ludhiana and Jalalabad, were captured on May 22 following a year-long examination after a Delhi Police group struck their fort in Chandigarh on a tip off.
"Rakesh Kumar, Prem Kumar and Gagandeep Singh are cousin siblings and were associated with hoodwinking 17 blameless people. They promoted in papers in Rajasthan, offering individuals work visas for the UAE," Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Bhatia told IANS.
"Amid cross examination, the blamed unveiled that they mimicked themselves with phony names while meeting the people in question in order to disguise their genuine personalities.
"They took heavy sums from guiltless individuals on the guise of giving certifiable work visas," the officer said.
"The misrepresentation was accounted for after the migration authorities recorded an objection on May 27 a year ago in which 10 travelers proposing to go to Dubai on work visa were standing around at the Indira Gandhi International Airport," the officer said.
Amid examination, the Protector of Emigrants (POE) sticker and flight stamp attached in every identification were discovered phony and fashioned.
The men had been swindled of Rs 50,000 each by the charged, the officer included. Yet, the court mediated and recovered the exploited people their cash.
