Umrah visa stopped, to resume on August 16

The Ministry of Haj and Umrah has since Monday quit accepting applications for Umrah visas, as indicated by Makkah day by day on Tuesday.

Mohammed Bin Badi, CEO of the National Committee for the Haj and Umrah said the service will resume accepting applications for Umrah visas from Dhul Hijja 15 (Aug. 16).

He said Umrah visas will be issued in five days and will be for a period not surpassing a month.

A record number of 7,650,736 Umrah visas were issued for the current year. Out of them, 7,393,657 travelers have touched base in the Kingdom, as indicated by information given by the service.

Most pioneers — 6,550,520 — went to the Kingdom via air, while 707,955 entered via land and 135,182 touched base via ocean.

The biggest number of pioneers are from Pakistan (1,657,777) trailed by Indonesia (967,125), India (650,480), Egypt (539,045), Algeria (365,628), Yemen (338,618), Turkey (321,494), Malaysia (278,674), Iraq (277,571) and Jordan (216,165).

Creating Haj and Umrah associations and administrations in the Kingdom is among the top needs of the Saudi government.

The Vision 2030 change plan intends to pull in excess of 30 million Umrah travelers, and give them great administrations and a remarkable encounter.

Prior, Haj Minister Mohammed Salih Bentin said the service might want to see Umrah organizations lift the division to exceptional dimensions by raising the nature of the administrations they offered, particularly in lodging, transport and visits to recorded destinations.
