Saudia, Garuda Indonesia expand codeshare agreement

The expanded partnership includes flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth for Saudia passengers

Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) passengers will now be able to fly to three new destinations in Australia as part of an expanded codeshare agreement between the airline and Garuda Indonesia, it was announced on Monday.

The expanded partnership will now include flights sold and operated by both airlines to destinations within Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, as well as to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Passengers from both airlines will be able to ship baggage to their final destinations.

In a statement, Saudia said the agreement “will open up additional flight options and reduced journey times by flying with the two carriers, in addition to making it even easier for loyalty card members of each respective airline to accrue and redeem miles for future travel.”

Garuda passengers, for their part, will now be able to fly to domestic destinations offered by Saudia, including Riyadh, Dammam, Al-Qasim and Tubuk, as well as its further international flights to destinations in Morocco, Turkey, Bahrain, Spain and elsewhere.

Saudi and Garuda Indonesia began their codeshare agreement in 2017. Both airlines are members of the Skyteam alliance.
