Saudi weather officials warn of heavy rain across the Kingdom

Saudi Arabian weather officials warned that heavy rain and dust storms will hit across the country.

Western Al-Baha region, which they fear could lead to torrential flows similar to those witnessed last month in the Kingdom. Similar conditions are expected in Taif, Maysan, Trabah, Rennie and Assam.

Torrential rain hit Jazan and the surrounding areas on Monday, with the authority urging residents in the area to avoid getting caught in valleys and to be wary of areas of surface water, according Saudi General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Electricity Company has apologized to residents in Rafhaa after the city suffered an outage and interruptions to its electricity supply due to the adverse weather conditions.

A company statement said that work was being done to restore the service to affected customers.

Elsewhere, Jeddah Municipality have had to treat 123,000 cubic meters of surface water where rainwater has pooled in the past few days.
