Saudi Electricity Compan Warned: SR400 in unpaid bills to result in power cut

The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has warned its subscribers that power will be cut if they fail to settle bills amounting to SR400 and above for two consecutive months. It also warned that they would also be prevented from availing the Taysir (easy) payment facility.

The company said the new Taysir bills would be calculated according to the average consumption over a period of 12 months.

The company started issuing the bills for the month of July from Thursday but a large number of subscribers said they had not yet received their bills.

It said the consumers who pay their bills regularly would have a six-month grace period before disconnecting supply.

The company said the subscribers who were automatically registered in the Taysir service could cancel their registration by a telephone call to the number designated for receiving complaints.

The SEC said the landlord or the subscriber could ask for the cancellation of the Taysir program from three accounts at a time just by making a single telephone call.

The company said the cancellation of Taysir service and the amendment of the bill would take five working days but it did not say when was its last working day before the start of the Eid Al-Adha holidays.

It said the Taysir service was dedicated for the consumers with bills ranging from SR300 to SR3,000 and added that until the end of 2018, the costumers could opt to pay a fixed amount every month instead of the entire value of the bill..

According to the company, by the end of December 2018, it will settle the remaining dues from each consumer.
