Saudi Arabia’s overall coronavirus deaths surpass 2000
Saudi Arabia’s overall coronavirus deaths passed 2,000 on Tuesday as another 49 patients died due to the deadly virus on Tuesday. The Kingdom’s death toll now stands at 2,017.
According to the Ministry of Health, as many as 3,392 people have been diagnosed with the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 217,108.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in the Kingdom is still on the rise with 5,205 people recovering from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of recoveries to 154,839, leaving 60,252 active cases receiving treatment across the country’s hospitals. The affirmed that the recovery rate in the kingdom has risen to 71.3 per cent.
The capital Riyadh is at it again recording the highest number of new cases, with 308 infections followed by Taif with 246 new cases, Medina with 232, and Jeddah with 227 new cases.
Saudi Arabia is the GCC’s worst-hit country by the virus, and is now the 13th nation in the world in terms of having the highest number of infections.
