Riyadh to host first ever Saudi falconry exhibition
Riyadh is set to launch the first version of the Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition on December 4.
The Saudi Falcons’ Club will be organising the five-day expo which will run until the December 8 in Riyadh
The club issued a statement regarding the huge upcoming event, which is being organized under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy prime minister, minister of defense, and the general supervisor of the Falcons Club.
“The exhibition aims to preserve the national heritage of falcon hunting and make it a priority for young Saudis through their participation and presence at genuine traditional events”, said the club in a statement.
More than 250 exhibitors will be participating in the exhibition from around Saudi Arabia, the GCC and other countries.
The authorities will allocate 14,700 square meters of land to host the event, which will feature an innovative design that simulates the integrated experience of hunting trips and wildlife with all its components and paraphernalia to provide visitors with an authentic feeling and experience anticipated by falconry enthusiasts.
Dedicated spaces will be allocated for a number of booths and stalls that will introduce both wildlife and the hobby of falcon hunting in general.
The exhibition will include a falcon and camel auction, as well as lectures. It aims to preserve the hobby of falcon hunting and breeding, given that Saudi Arabia is on the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) list of falcon-breeding countries.
