Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University jumps 59 places in global rankings

RIYADH: Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) has jumped 59 places as compared to last year to rank 79 globally in the internally recognized UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

The university ranked second at the local level in the UI GreenMetric 2020 and fourth in the Middle East.

It is an annual ranking that assesses the sustainability efforts on campuses and the development of eco-friendly infrastructures in 912 universities in 94 countries.

It relies on six main indicators: Infrastructure, energy, waste, water, transportation, and the level of the educational process.

PNU’s progress in 2020 reflects the importance the university attaches to international environmental standards and its efforts to provide an integrated healthy educational environment that achieves environmental sustainability at all levels.

PNU also participated in The Times Foundation’s “Impact Ranking” for sustainable development goals, based on its growing interest in achieving sustainability and applying its best practices in all fields, and confirming its contribution to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
