Over 1.5 million Umrah visas issued in 12 weeks
Ministry of Haj and Umrah has said, over 1,509,936 Umrah visas were issued in 12 weeks since the season started in September, reported Saudi Gazette.
Total of 1,190,961 Umrah pilgrims have arrived in saudi arabia of whom 853,085have departed for his or her various homes once activity the minor pilgrimage, Ministry added.
Ministry said, 337,876 pilgrims were still within the country with 232,117 of them in Makkah and 105,759 in Madinah. 1,094,403 pilgrims arrived by air via King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, and 96,523 pilgrims arrived by land and 35 by sea.
Pakistan, with 394,143, came 1st in the number of the pilgrims followed by Indonesia with 233,792 pilgrims. India sent 196,726 pilgrims, Yemen 56,972, the United Arab Emirates 25,875, Bangladesh 23,368, Malaysia 54,214, Algeria 32,709, Turkey 29,628 and the United Kingdom 18,215, as per Ministry of Haj and Umrah.
The pilgrims were served by a complete of 8,635 Saudis consisting of 7,235 men and 1,400 women who are employees of Haj and Umrah firms.
Ministry said, its weekly applied mathematics report is aimed toward closely following the provision of the Umrah visas and also the arrival and departure of the pilgrims to make sure them with glorious services which will alter them do their rites in ease, peace and luxury among the ministry’s drive to comprehend the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, that aims to draw in concerning thirty million Umrah pilgrims annually by that year.
