Military Helicopter Crashes in Istanbul; 4 Soldiers Killed

A military helicopter with five soldiers on board crashed in an Istanbul neighborhood on Monday, killing four of them, officials said. The fifth soldier was rushed to a hospital with injuries.

The state-run Anadolu Agency said the helicopter, which was on a preparation flight, hit the top of a building and slammed in the middle of loft hinders in Istanbul's Sancaktepe neighborhood, on the Asian side of the city that straddles two landmasses.

Nobody else was harmed in the episode, as per an announcement from the Istanbul representative's office.

The reason for the mischance was under scrutiny.

The helicopter was coming back to Samandira air base, close Sancaktepe, and may have endeavored to arrive on an unfilled plot of land in the area in the wake of encountering a specialized blame, private NTV TV detailed.

The helicopter seemed to have turned over and its garbage was scattered around the road, video film from the scene appeared.
