Mataf reserved for 2 hours for special needs people
The Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques held the mataf (circumambulation zone around the Holy Kaaba) for 2 hours for the reliable with special needs on Monday(Dec 3), reported Sasudi Gazette.
This was to stamp the International Day of Persons with Disabilities which falls on Dec. 3.
The yearly recognition of the International Day of Disabled Persons was announced in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly. It intends to advance the rights and prosperity of people with disabilities in all circles of society and improvement, and to build consciousness of the circumstance of people with handicaps in each part of political, social, financial and social life.
The theme for this is: “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equality.”
The current year's topic centers around engaging people with disabilities for a comprehensive, impartial and feasible advancement as a major aspect of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Kingdom has proclaimed enactments and takes unique consideration of individuals with disabilities.
