King Salman restores annual allowance for govt staff

Minister of Civil Service Sulaiman Al-Hamdan thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, to approve the payment of annual allowance to all state employees in line with its previous status and procedures.

High Royal Highness King Salman ordered the resumption of  yearly allowance installments to all state representatives from the beginning of 2019, Al-Hamdan revealed to Al Arabiya TV on Monday.

 

In April 2017, King Salman had issued a royal decree restoring bonuses and allowances for civil servants and military personnel that had been cut under austerity measures in September 2016.

The King said then that the rewards were reestablished as income expanded and the spending shortfall declined.

He said, “I thank the King and the Crown Prince on behalf of government employees for issuing this royal decree, which reflects their keenness to improve the performance of the government sector.”

In April 2017, King Salman had issued a regal pronouncement reestablishing rewards and stipends for government workers and military staff that had been cut under severity measures in September 2016.
