Covid-19: Saudi Arabia reports 70 new cases of coronavirus

The total number of cases infected with the novel coronavirus in the Kingdom reached 344.

Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) announced monitoring and registering of 70 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

In a statement made in Riyadh, the ministry stated that among the new infections (11) were cases coming from: Morocco, India, Jordan, the Philippines, Britain, the Emirates and Switzerland.

The 11 cases were isolated directly from airports to hospitality, in quarantine (sanitary isolation), proven effective in dealing with the transmission of infection, adding that there is a case of a health practice, in Riyadh.

The ministry indicated that the remaining (58) cases are of those who mix with previous cases, some of which are related to attending social occasions, such as marriage parties, condolences' offering and family meetings.

The 70 cases, including (49) in Riyadh, 11 in Jeddah, two in Makkah, and one for each cities of Madinah, Dammam, Dhahran, Qatif, Al Baha, Tabuk, Bisha and Hafr Al-Batin, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the total number of cases infected with the novel coronavirus in the Kingdom reached 344, of which 8 cases had recovered, and the rest of them are all subject to health care, according to the procedures adopted in sanitary isolation, of which two cases are, in critical condition.

Calling on everyone to adhere to the guidelines and directives, including avoiding shaking hands, washing hands and avoiding gatherings, in order to preserve their safety and that of society, the ministry urged the public.

All those who had questions or inquiries regarding the virus, have only to communicate, immediately, with the "Health Contact Center 937", stressing that the information shall be taken from their official sources and not to be led to or by the rumors.
