Authorities said: 348,965 pilgrims arrive in Madinah
The total number of pilgrims who have arrived in Madinah after performing Hajj rituals has reached 348,965, according to the statistics announced by authorities in the holy city. After the completion of Hajj, thousands of pilgrims visit sites of historical interest in the two holy cities. Saudi authorities ensure to provide them with the best services during their stay in the Kingdom. Last week, Madinah Charity Society distributed more than 500,000 meals and 600,000 water bottles to pilgrims visiting Madinah.
A supervisor of Madinah Gift Project said the total meals provided to pilgrims were 1 million, in addition to 1.5 million bottles of water.
Experts believe pilgrims’ visits to historical sites are of cultural significance as they enrich their knowledge. They stressed the need to preserve the rich historical value of the two holy cities, adding that tourism companies have to share that responsibility. They said many people — particularly researchers and students — are interested in the history of heritage sites of the Kingdom.
