At least 4 killed, More than 40 injured in Turkey train crash

Four people have died and  Over 40 have been injured in a fast train crash in Turkey's capital, Ankara, reported RT News.

Local emergency services, fire and National Medical Rescue teams (UMKE) have been dispatched to the scene of the incident, which happened around 6:40 am Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at the Marsandiz station when part of the bridge crossed by the express fell over the wagons, Anadolu News organization reports. 

Accordingly, two vehicles of the high-speed train were derailed. An authority from the Ankara governor's office revealed to Reuters that the accident was caused by a collision with a local train.

In the interim, the Ankara senator's office said the accident was caused by an impact with a neighborhood train. There has been no official word on casualties yet, however many harmed individuals could be seen saved from the debris.

The injured are being transported to local hospitals by ambulances, while on location rescue work continues. 

Turkey has had various destructive train crashes throughout the years. In July, 24 people were killed after a train wrecked in transit to Istanbul.
