70 Year Old Saudi woman Obtains Driving Licence

A 70-year-old Saudi woman, Sabeeha Al-Fakhr, is making headlines after obtaining a driving licence.

Born in 1948, she lives in the neighbourhood of Al-Sedra in the governorate of Al-Qatif.

She said that she failed her driving test twice in Bahrain due to “fear and confusion”, before succeeding in her third bid despite her old age.

She was first trained by a Bahraini women instructor. She was then taken over by male instructors who helped her succeed in her driving test.
