New private sector jobs decree issued for Emiratis

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), on Sunday issued a ministerial decree governing employment of Emirati nationals in the private sector.

The decree laid down procedures and steps to employ Emiratis in private sector companies that are registered with the ministry.

As per the decree, the ministry will monitor and follow up with Emirati recruits after they join a private sector establishment and attend to their complaints, if any.

The ministry tweeted that private companies have to register Emirati employees in the national pension scheme.

Termination
The decree also stipulates the terms and conditions for terminating the employment of Emiratis working in private sectors and specified the mechanism on how to deal with each case and whether they were terminated for valid reasons.

Under the new decree, employers will have to submit an end-of-service report after meeting with the Emirati employee so as to state the reasons for their termination.
