Ancient human footprints found in Saudi Arabia reevaluate history

Smartphone brands are always on the lookout for the next ‘big’ trend. The most recent one is the notch. However, it looks like that the next trend which will be adopted by the smartphone makers is that of the in-display fingerprint sensor. Vivo has already launched a smartphone which sports an in-display fingerprint sensor and now it seems that Apple is also going to dive in this segment.

According to a report by Korean publication Chosun, Apple is said to be working on an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Presently, used by Vivo, the technology utilizes reflected light to read the shape of a fingerprint and then match it to that of the user’s. The ultrasonic version is presently being developed by Apple, Samsung and Qualcomm and it claims to catch small details of the skin. The ultrasonic biometric readers are claimed to be much more accurate as compared to the optical variety.
KTB Investment & Securities expected that about 100 million in-display fingerprint sensors will be shipped by next year. This number will go up till 210 million by the following year.
As per earlier reports, Samsung is said to bring the in-display fingerprint sensor next year to its devices with the launch of Galaxy S10 and the same timeline is expected from Apple as well.
Recently, it was reported that Apple might bring multiple colour variants for its iPhone this year. As per report by StreetInsider, a Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang said that the company now aims to woo the young customers so it is expected that it might launch multiple colour options for the iPhone with LCD display (likely to be called iPhone 8S).
Jun Zhang said, "Since Apple start to launch three new models every year, we believe the company needs to differentiate the designs of the LCD model from the two high end OLED models,” he comments. “One reasonable choice would be to add different colors.”
