15 Most Sacred and Historic Places within Masjid al Nabawi
10-House of Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): Abdullah Bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the Son of the Umar bin Khattab R.A. After he accepted Islam in his youth, he became vigilant about following Sunnah.
He used to pray where he saw Prophet praying. His house was located in the east of Mehrab. The window which is just opposite to Roda Rasool S.A.W is where the house was located.
Its door opened up in the Masjid and Bilal (RA) used to give Azan by standing on the pillar of the house.
11-House of Usman (may Allah be pleased with him): The third Caliph of Islam, Usman (may Allah be pleased with him) was the son in law of our beloved Prophet (PBUH). His house can be located outside the Masjid al Nabawi.
It is the very house where he (may Allah be pleased with him) was assassinated by two Egyptian rebels. He has the honor of being the first ever Quran Hafiz.
12-The house of Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her): Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) was the wife of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and the daughter of Umar (RA).
The house of Hafsa used to be in front of what now is Roda Rasool S.A.W. The red carpet directly in front of Roda Rasool S.A.W is approximately where her house used to be.
13-House of Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) migrated to Madina, He (PBUH) stayed at Abu Ayyub Ansari’s (May Allah be Pleased with him) house for initial few months.
His house is now outside the Masjid. The Masjid, originally, was built adjacent to his house. The Prophet stood on the upper floor of the doubled story house and Abu Ayyub and his family would share meals with the Prophet (PBUH).

14-Garden of Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him): According to Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) possessed the finest gardens in Madina.
He had most gardens among the Ansars. His favorite garden was named as “Bir Ha” which was very close to Masjid al Nabawi. What now is the rear of Masjid, is where his garden approximately used to be.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) used to visit the garden and drank its water from the well which was sweet and plenty. Abu Talha R.A. presented the Garden to Holy Prophet to be used for sake of Islam, yet the Prophet advised it to be distributed among its heirs.
15-Houses of Sahabah along the Masjid-e-Nabwi Qiblah wall: The houses of some Sahabah were located within Masjid e Nabawi at the time of Prophet (PBUH).
The houses are no more yet there is approximation that the house of some Sahabah was located along the now Qiblah wall. Along the Qiblah wall and in the back of Bab-e-Salam the houses of following Sahabah were present:
1-Jafar (may Allah be pleased with him)
2-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
3-Naufal bin Haris (may Allah be pleased with him)
4-Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him)
Some houses and sacred landmarks have now been shifted or are no more, yet they are dear to every Muslim. Do try to discover and visit these landmarks when you visit Masjid al Nabawi!
